:surprised: at this move, though Darnold has been terrible the last few weeks.

I would assume he has a dart board with Belichick's mug on it.

Darnold is toiling in bust territory if he's not already on the path with no return.

So Panthers got rid of Bridgewater who is playing well with Denver, passed on Mac Jones and Justin Fields, Mac Jones replaced Cam day 1, and Cam finds his way back to Carolina?

This does not look like a team with a plan.

Sounds like a decent move for the Panthers. Cam is a baller and it’s not like they had many choices.

Still think it's too much? Barely been in the building for a few days, 2 TDs in limited touches Sunday.
If they make a playoff run it will be because their defense is for real. They deserve the credit for the win yesterday.

The plan was Darnold, for better or worse (the latter apparently, especially after picking up that 5th year option prematurely). Cam is a decent rebound option short term, which could very well carry beyond this season and allow for development of a different young QB.

If they make a playoff run, it will be ultimately due to other teams' failures IMO. Their defense is definitely strong, but any team left to rely on PJ at QB had no playoff chances. Those are elevated with Cam.

That's probably accurate. Unless they are playing teams with McCoy and Streveler at QB. I am pretty sure PJ did better than both of them combined.

Very Jets like.

Not to mention that both Mac Jones and Justin Fields look like they have solid futures. And Darnold is looking more and more like a bust. And then there's the draft capital spent to execute this so called plan.

2022 4th and 2021 6th are relatively negligible, but that 2022 2nd is going to hurt. Trade talks had started the day of Ohio State's pro day, so seems like Fields may have been their target, pre-trade. Could've had him it turns out...not that he hasn't been shaky this year as well (as expected for most rookies).

Darnold looked relatively decent until the McCaffrey injury settled in (and Darnold's own injuries). I wouldn't write him off entirely just yet; he was pretty effective the first 4 games. Of course, in retrospect wins over the Jets, Saints, Texans (and later the Falcons) aren't exactly inspiring (although the Saints win was at the time, coming off their victory over the Packers week 1).

yea yesterdays victory had nothing to do with this guy it was all cam

McCaffrey rushed 13 times for 95 yards and caught all 10 of his targets for 66 yards in Sunday's 34-10 win over the Cardinals.
Spin: McCaffrey got it rolling early, consistently gashing Arizona in the running game. He also led Carolina with seven first-half catches, racking up nearly 130 scrimmage yards by halftime. However, to begin the third quarter, McCaffrey made a brief visit to the Panthers' medical tent and totaled just six touches during the second half. Although the Panthers' comfortable lead may have contributed toward McCaffrey watching the late-game action, the tailback was concerningly seen working on his right hamstring while sidelined, Will Kunkel of FOX Charlotte reports. Despite his low second-half usage, McCaffrey still almost out-gained the Cardinals by himself, making for a productive showing overall. However, considering he just returned last week after missing five games due to a hamstring injury, any reoccurrence would certainly be a worrisome development. As a result, his status should be closely tracked in the coming days. Should McCaffrey be limited at all going forward, Chuba Hubbard would figure to benefit once again, with veteran Ameer Abdullah the next tailback on the depth chart.

It is hilarious watching the Panthers talk about limiting his touches while he is injured while "slowly working him back" and then give him 18 and 23 touches in his first 2 games back.

I suppose if I had a weapon like that, I would want to use it too.
