Just noticed this from the article "Said Fraser: “Teams were built to play a certain way. Then when the rules of engagement were changed you might have a team for a brand of hockey that no longer exists.”
This had an effect on a lot of teams.
And they've had enough time to fix it.
I tend to agree with Frazer and Sedin. Rules are rules. But then again "Letting them play" has always been a problem, especially come playoff time.
Interference is called so inconsistently, that it almost seems like they should do away with it.
Sorry but I think they call way to much shit now. I certainly do not want more penalties.
I don't want to go back to the hug fest or clutch and grab that was more like prom night than hockey.
It's a game of skill, let them use it and not let marginal players grab on to more skilled players to even the score....sorry, I don't want to go there.

In my opinion the problem is they call the playoffs differently than the regular season. Doesnt matter to me how many penalties are called . More , less, whatever .
Just be consistent . Hooking is hooking on the first day of the season as it is the last day of the playoffs . Call it all the time or dont call it ever . BUT BE CONSISTENT .
I like the way they call the game in the playoffs. Players should have to earn their goals, the ticky tack interference crap is for the birds. If you want glory man up and take it, complaining is for sissies and communists...

But what about ref goonery and thuggery?
I wish I would have called him comrade TrueNiners...
