I made a proposal for consulting services for a large school district and wrote a poem called "Dreams of hibernating bears."

Let’s hear it
Dreams of Hibernating Bears

Even in their dreams bears press their noses to the wind.

The collective scent of the universe flows through their nesting thoughts

Producing the dream wisdom to know who lit the sun, why bees bring them honey

And the delectable difference in different colored berries.

In deeper sleep - they dream the wonder in a child’s eyes,

The arcing rainbow after a cooling rain, dancing fireflies in the early dusk,

The rippling in a spring fed river and the first eye contact of future lovers.

More importantly, they dream the dare necessary for artists to create.

Dreams of hibernating bears have a purpose beyond the beguiling side effects

We behold in common and uncommon places. Bears balance everything.

They dream the celestial axis from which the slowly revolving heavens hang.

The universe rests on the muscular shoulders of unconscious dreaming bears.

Waking bears are unaware of their role in the dreamscape scheme.

Only fading, slippery dream fragments are left to stir the contemplation

Of bears engaging in robust back rubs on the bark of shaking trees.

Nature hides its secrets in the hibernating dreams of ferocious beasts

Not enough rhyming
DC will not be a fan.
You're no Dr. Seuss

I liked it though Mingo.

Caught the vid and watched almost the entirety of the US Open. I have never watched that much of a golf tournament in my life. It was kind of cool to see the course from the start and understand how it changed and how the players played it over a 4 day period. Not something I will seek out to do again, but a worthy endeavor in isolation.
