The question is: Considering the gut wrenching loss on Monday night, what do you believe that this team will do going forward? The choices were; Step up or fold.

Fold

Correction... they will proceed to make some of the most mind numbingly stupid mistakes on the planet, lose 2 more close games to totally remove all doubt that they have no shot even in this weak division.....

Then they will fold like a lawn chair from the dollar store.

This team seems to do better when the expectations are lower. I expect them to bounce back and even get our hopes up, then lose to Dallas in week 17 to blow it.

I see a 2-2 in the final 4 with a 7-9 finish which is better than I expected pre season. I feel this squad is heading in the right direction with a quality GM in place.

This team is going to win the division. We will beat Chicago and follow it up with a win against Buffalo. We will lose in Philly and then win at Dallas.

Philly will only win one more game this season...against us.

NYG are going to beat Miami and Philly.

Dallas is going to lose out.

Step up and then fold. They like to give us false hope.

I think they are done. 2-3 is a good call but it won't be nearly enough. But a move in the right direction for sure.

I had them winning 5 ( 6 with some luck) games prior to the season. That means that they either are 0-4 or 1-3 for the remainder of the season. Unfortunately, I see no reason to change my prediction. FOLD! (Too many road games left)

The thing that makes this tricky is that except maybe for Buffalo their remaining opponents are just as inconsistent and unreliable. Honestly - who really knows how any of these teams will perform for the remainder of the season.

If Gruden calls the plays I think we will step up. McVay is the problem on offense and no one sees that. I cant believe I did not get a response on my thread about McVay. I don't care who is on your team if you playcalling is predictable you will never be able to run or win on offense.

Both. Every game will be different. They will end up with a 7-9 record and we will all be looking for revenge and to find that one person to blame. Cousins will get the lions share of the blame from a very vocal minority and Gruden receiving the rest. And those are both legitimate targets. But wrong targets in this case.

I think they finish at 7-9, but if they beat Chicago in Chicago, I think they could go 8-8.

Chicago on the road is key, to me.

If this article is to be believed, complete with pics and breakdowns of routes etc. McVay's play calling wasn't near as bad as I originally thought it was or what you're making it out t be in the above post. If Cousins hits on a couple of those early ones that would've knocked some of that aggressive defense by the Boys out the box. Had Cousins hit on the one just before the missed FG. The Skins probably win the game, but he didn't even attempt it. Instead he throws a check-down to CT that had no chance to pick up the first down.

The Redskins took deep shots on Monday night, they just missed their chances

They had first and ten 20 times and ran on 15 of them. When they put in Compton at tight end they might as well hang a sign around his neck reading "Run Play". McVay may have called more deep shots than we thought but this offense is beyond predictable.

Exactly what I am saying DGfan. Breed, So if KC doesn't hit his deep shots this offense is toast?

What I believe and Kirk has stated to be happening is an unwillingness to let the guy play. Kirk has some upside that's pretty obvious. Have we been allowed to witness it? Absolutely not!!! He doesn't change plays at the LOS (his words not mine) eventhough I've said it all season long and prefers the checkdown for > 90% of his secondary choices. To me there are very few current starters or their backups in this league who couldn't do what he has done this season. That's not a criticism of him, but rather an observation of what he's been asked to do in this offense which is primarily to play safe.

So most on this board have stated that he's done ok or has shown improvement and that's fair, just as long as those observations are based on his being ok or has shown improvement on those things that he was already doing. The tried expressions of "he's the best that they have" is counterintuitive and could just as easily be seen as the best of horrible, which ironically, the same could be said of the division that is the NFC East.

Fact is at some point be it in these final four games or next season, this team will have to put their full trust in this guy and let him play fully unfettered and let the chips fall where they will. In as much as this season is concerned, for me grading him on things that I already knew that he and/or his contemporaries could do just as easily, is basically a wasted evaluation. Well deserving of the "C+/- that this year's play has inspired.

As far as what happened Monday night and Monday night alone.

If there are/were five such opportunities, I'm not saying he has to hit on all five. Overthrowing two, being too afraid or whatever it was, you don't even attempt a throw on another two. Then waiting till being down by 7 with under a minute to play to finally hit one. To go 1/5 in that dept when all five were and there to be made with decently thrown passe and four would've been TDs, Yeah, that's fuckin up and its Kirk Kirk. Not McVay, not the OL, not on Gruden, on Kirk.

Its Mcvay waiting to the 4th qtr to do bootlegs. Its MCvay constantly running on first down. Yes Kirk missed his shots but the play calling was awful.

Redskins have many holes, Cousins isn't one of the biggest. He's done pretty well and has no competition on the roster with both backups likely never to take another snap in the NFL.
