Greatest Atlanta Hawk ever...yes, no doubt about it. Greatest player in that team's history? Gotta go w/ Bob Pettit. Only Wilt & Russell averaged more rpg's.

True. I meant to say Atlanta Hawk ever. Bob Pettit was a beast back in the day.

Yep. I'm not old enough to remember watching BP play but always enjoyed watching the Human Highlight Film back in the day.

Greatest ATL Hawk for certain...the Petitt era? Clearly he was a baller, but even taking in the complete franchise history...I'm going with Nique.

Given that Aaron came to ATL to finish his incredible career...Nique imo is the most notable ATL sports figure period that did it all in ATL.

Hey that's fair enough. I went w/ PB over Nique because he delivered the franchise their only title. Of course PB didn't play in ATL. I agree that DW is the most notable franchise player though.

Winning a title matters, but there are a lot of greats that were never fortunate enough to be on teams good enough to win it all...the 80s Hawks just couldn't get over the Celtics hurdle...when the best teams came into the Omni...DW always seemed to bring his best effort...MJ, Magic, Bird, Barkley...it didn't matter.
