Redskins released DE Jason Hatcher.

The move saves $4.2 million against the cap. Hatcher had been mulling retirement, but The Washington Post's Master Tesfatsion reports he intends to continue his career. Even going on 34, Hatcher should receive interest..

The Redskins will host DE Chris Long for a free agent visit on Tuesday.

Long has spent his entire career as a 4-3 left defensive end. He would likely move to outside linebacker in Washington's 3-4 scheme. Long has managed just three sacks over his last 16 games, but he has encountered a ton of bad injury luck. Turning 31 later this month, Long could bring leadership to D.C. and add some juice to the Redskins' Ryan Kerrigan-Preston Smith OLB rotation.

Hey Gk you still think Murphy is going to be a factor this year? Ha! Ha!

Wow how many OLBs do they need? I still haven't given up on the Galette idea.
