Biggest contract ever. Plus a 3 year opt out clause. Wonder if anybody bites?

I think the Phillies may come somewhat close price-wise, but the 3 year opt seems unlikely.

Giants just offered a Barry Bonds Contract. If that is the case he is going to get the biggest deal ever.

If that's what he wants, I'd give it to him

He'd probably exercise it, then the Phillies are off the hook

I'd rather have him for 3 years than 10

Be that as it may, Arrenado is a better player than him at a more premium position and he's asking for 90 million more than Nolan got.

Arrenado signed an extension, he wasn’t an unrestricted FA. There’s a difference.

But Arenado wasn't available.

Probably not, but through age 25:

BB - .265/.358/.479/.837/133
BH - .279/.388/.512/.900/139

seriously. a 139 OPS+ through age 25 is pretty incredible. he's on a HOF trajectory.

At 22, his 2015 campaign was the best season at the dish since Barry Bonds was loaded to the gills with anabolics.

"but he's no Mike Trout."

True that, but Trout's on a trajectory to be the greatest baseball player in the history of the universe.
