I'm happy for the Royals.... I've never been there, but they always struck me as some loyal fans -- Particularly putting up with all the horrendous years they had over the past few decades. I hope they win the series.

Cincygrad's sentiments were nice.

I'll just say go fuck yourselves! I may be kidding. Maybe.

I mean, would you rather see the Red Sox and Cardinals play another thrilling world series? Or maybe we can watch the Yankees again.... That didn't get old.

I haven't watched a baseball game not involving the Reds in about 5 years.... Too boring. I do read about what happened and I catch some of the highlights on sports center.

And I'm now losing interest in the Reds. I think i might have actually watched 5-10 of their games all of last season. Unfortunately I followed them online and read the stories in the morning. That didn't make me feel any better about being a fan.

I stopped watching late July. We blow. The Bengals season is about to hit the shits too.

We should have known three weeks ago..... All that positive press about our talent, our character, the Devon Still story, blah, blah, blah....... If that's the peak for the 2014 season, I'm going to be pissed. I think we're going to have a rough few weeks, but I'm banking on a spirited run late in the year.

Almost UC Bball season...should be an interesting year. More talent, but less experience. UC has 6 guys who are something like 6'8" or taller...so for once, they will have size. Two of the Centers go 6'10 and both around 270ish.

They also have signed two 4* guys for next year, a PG and SG/SF.

It would be amazing to see what Mick could do in recruiting if he had an actual Arena to play in and show off as well as a decent practice facility. 5/3 is a joke, and no amount of renovations is going to change that.

5/3 arena is a disgrace. The UC basketball team may win 30 games this season.

It's a no brainer to move to US Bank, split the renovations 3 ways between the owners, Cylcones, and UC, with US Bank footing a larger portioin due to the ability to hold upgraded events such as Basketball tournaments for High School or College, plus concerts, and of course conventions (like the one they just lost out on because it's out-dated for the Rep-convention).

You put the basketball on the banks, and make it the center of the experience. Fans can come early and stay late, and in between enjoy UC Basketball.

If you keep it on campus you got shit to do before and after, and no one wants to drive around before/after and then have to look for parking.

It's so ridiculously simple to see.

UC basketball is going to stink. But they play in the American so we'll win a lot of games.

2nd round exit in the tourney.

Probably be easier to get talent if we had a real conference.

Got two 4* guys that are freshman this year...

Got two 4* guys coming next year...

Mick can recruit, it would help more if he had better facilities, no doubt. With that you're talking about the 3/4* guys compared to the 4/5* guys that UC misses out on.

UC will be fine because, as you said, they play in the AAC with Louisville gone, and UC, Memphis, and SMU all re-tooling after solid runs last year.

As for the tourney, as always, it's going to rely on whether UC can find a guy, or two, to put the ball in the basket. Defense and rebounding will be at the usual high standard. Offense is the question, again, as usual.

Agreed.

The last, truly offensive team that UC fielded was:

Statterfield
Johnson
Martin
Tate

That team could score, if memory serves. Since then, it's been a series of 1 or 2 guys that could score, but surrounded by a team of "athletes" that defended and rebound at a high level, but could never bury an open shot consistently.
