John Amos, Happy Birthday. You have done so much for so long. If I turn on an old Good Times and you haven't been killed off yet (damn, damn, damn), I will usually watch until the end.

And then there is The Beastmaster, sure I watched it mainly because for some reason even though it was a PG movie Tanya Roberts was naked a couple times, but that does not mean I didn't appreciate your work in the film. I cannot wait for the Criterion edition of this to come out.

In Coming To America as the owner of McDowells you were funny, smart, and warm.

In Die Hard 2 you fooled us all and were really a dastardly fellow who met a very messy end, but were not easily forgotten.

These are just a few standouts from your long storied career, I am not purposely leaving anything out. If the rumors are true and you visit this board, I hope you enjoy this sincere happy birthday wish.

Thank you kindly gentlemen. I usually just peruse the boards, I am not used to posting.

I enjoyed making The Beastmaster. To this day Marc Singer and I are still good friends, unless we are away the two of us meet with Dennis Franz and Anthony Anderson for poker or game night. I've know Franz for 30 years, we were in the original off broadway production of "Twins" - they later made a movie of it.

Thanks for the nice thoughts, I am happy to be here another year but I am saddened by Charles Durning's passing.
