In 2002 he came back to Nebraska with so much hope,
As a native son he ended up as a quite a dope
2003 had some bad blowouts for a score,
His downslide started with a note slipped under a door
Mediocrity is what we supposedly gravitated towards,
The other stupid crap he said made me want to slice his vocal chords
A 40 day coaching search got lots of guys more cash,
We ended up with a loser best known for a throat slash
As "Restore The Order" shirts were being prepared,
"This is why we did what we did" was being declared
Changing Herbie Husker into a slimy smiling creeper,
And removing historical pictures dug his grave even deeper
As "The Vision" he treated people like a lower class,
He had a midget radio broadcaster that lived up his ass
Speaking of ass, the chancellor had his head up his own,
Until he finally pulled it out and witnessed the cancer that had grown
Okie St crushed us and the stadium was clear,
2 days later Husker Nation finally had a reason to cheer
6 years ago on this glorious day,
We were told that Steve Pederson would not stay
As the announcement was made we stood in attendance,
October 15th will always be Husker Nations day of independence
