Word. I'm concerned at this point that that might be a big "if," but you're right. A bullpen anchored by healthy and effective Hand, Miller and Allen could be nasty.

Indians could be nasty in the second half with an improved bullpen and a little more consistency at the dish (they rank 4th in MLB in RS, but by month, they've ranked as low as 25th, and as high as 1st).

Their rotation's ERA ranks 2nd in baseball, they've scored the 4th most runs in baseball, and their bullpen has been flirting with 30th all season.

There's also the possibility that there's something they don't like about him. Maybe they don't think he'll stick at C? Or maybe his defense leaves something to be desired? They seem to be content with lighter-hitting backstops with high end defensive chops.

Yup and it will give Francona more leeway. If he wants to bring Miller in like the 5th he can do it more confidently knowing he’s got another nasty lefty waiting for later

What I read was that Indians didn’t love his D and also requested he learn OF more and he had no interest in that
