Awaz...I like the way you broke this down. IMHO the even more key changes were the intangible players O'Donnell, Powe, Carcillo and Betts for Lilja/Bourdon/Gus, Read, Rinaldo, and Talbot. Somehow Henry Z also figures into the mix....O'Donnell is/was a better limited time player but clearly slower and on the way out of the league. Read is faster than Powe and has more offensive upside. Rinaldo is just showing so much growth and discipline that as much as I respected Carcillo's tenacity (and hated his stupid penalties) that he is a definate improvement. Talbot over Betts on health grounds alone. He has two healthy shoulders, has played on 3 lines and adds more speed that Betts lacked.

The real question mark is going to be that contract that Bryz signed...but, all and all it looks like the offseason was a big step in the long term right direction.

Looking good so far. Gotta hope we stay healthy in the second half. Id like to see us grab a D-man who wont break the bank. Id love to grab Beauchimin(sp) from the Ducks. Probably only cost a 2nd or 3rd rounder.
