I honestly think I'd rather be in the NIT this year.

I know everyone will think I'm dumb, and I probably am, but I'm not all that excited about getting our shit pushed in for 1 game and then being done.

If we go to the NIT, we have a decent chance of making a good run in it. Be a good experience for the players to play that far into a tourney. We made it to the NIT finals a few years ago under Grant, maybe we could actually win it this time.

But making the tourney and getting a chance would still be awesome and there is obviously a reason people would rather be a 16 seed than a #1 NIT seed. But I just don't see a run happening to be honest.

You never know, he might not want to deal with the pre maddonas of the NBA. It's easier for him to run his ship the way the spurs do in college than it is to do in the NBA.
