Holly shit, was this guy cursed. He died earlier this week from complications from COVID.

What a tragic story.

That is sad. He had an amazing story, even if his promising career had to end.

I wonder if the accident, and how it ended his promising career, put him in a mental state that allowed for this tragic end.

Seeing Ramos get optioned yesterday and seeing Luciano struggle with some potentially chronic injuries got me thinking of past Giants prospect fails, and I thought of this kid. Quite possibly the most tragic Giants prospect story I remember.

The one-two punch of Cabrera and Villalona remind you that hitting on a prospect is HARD. Not only does the kid have to actually end up being good, but real life can often swoop in and spoil everything as well.
