So I was looking at the list, and it looks like we have 7 guys who will be eligible FA's or RFA's: Betts, LaPierre, Grossman, Carle, Voracek, Sestito, Kubina, Jagr. Looks like Betts and LaPierre won't be with the team next year. Grossman has re-signed. You guys know a lot more about the personnel top-to-bottom than I do. In your opinion:
(1) What is our biggest need?
(2) If it's blueliner, do you think we let or Carle or Kubina go, and try and sign a bigger-money guy? Who would be some candidates?
(3) If Jagr stepped away, would we promote from within, or hit the market for a line 1 replacement?
(4) What about Voracek?

Voracek can not go anywhere. As good as Cooter is, you dont let half of the Carter trade walk. IMO Carle is gone.

I want to think Jagr is gone, but long ago did he express interest in returning, plus he has the same agent as Voracek. I cant imagine him walking, and if he wants less money I still want him.

I would love to sign Voracek long term as well as Kubina. These two guys clog the middle to prevent opposing players to camp out in front of net. I think we can resign Jagr for cheap. At this point in his career it's not so much about money for him, he wants to win and he's said he would like to remain a Flyer. Just not sure how the cap will work to keep these guys. Awaz where the fuck are you?

In this scenerio, you let Carle go. Then you use the money you have to bring in a good blue line player. Not sure who would be out there but you never know. If you want to go cheap I would like to see a Liles type player, if you go big, then Weber or someone else on that level. As far as Jagr goes, I think if we get close but don't win it all, he'll come back cause it will def be his last shot and why start somewhere else. But since we're raising the cup this year than it don't really fuckin matter, lol..
