Makes you mad but let's face it, the league, for themselves and laying Dow some groundwork on punishment for hits to the head, this is probably about right.
Cooke had to be punished for more game as it was not his first the same type of suspension. In this case someone has to kick his ass on the ice. Who is the best fighter to do it?
I thought cooke deserved significantly more than volchenkov Anton atleast tried to back off the elbow and cooke was far worse but I also can't say I wasn't expecting it to turn out that way either
I can see the reason for the penalty and suspension it was a head shot.the issue albeit its not volchenkovs first offense cooke is by far more of a repeat offender and his shot was allot dirtier.yes let their be punishment but that should be reflected by the offender and offense.
I think Volchenkov's elbow was deserving of three games, so my beef isn't there. I simply think that Cooke should get double that. In summary, heavier on the really bad ones and still be tough on the "lesser" hits.

Thats the problem I'm having they should be making A bigger example of these repeat offenders and flat out blatant cheapshots.I hate to even think it but with the precedents set and the various punishments given and not given it apears the logo on the front of the jersey does seem to matter
Another thing that REALLY bothers me when it comes to Cooke is the fact that Avery was suspended indefinitely (I forgot how long it turned out to be) for SAYING something, he didnt injure anyone, he did put out a dirty hit, he said something and got a harsher sounding penalty.
Kind of funny Avery gets suspended indefinately for a verbal offense while on the dallas roster but has several incidents since returning to the rangers where he attempted to injure or injured another player and recieves no suspensions
