10-team, qb, 2 rbs, 3 wrs, 1te, 1 flex league with 5 bonus points for going over 150yds rushing or receiving. Non ppr.

My team: Stafford, Calvin, Desean, Hilton, Williams, McCoy, Foster, Lacy, Ellington, J.Stewart, Gronk, J.Reed

I am in discussions right now with the owner of Forte. I am really worried about Foster ROS. I love having a good RB to put in my flex spot over a WR. With Reed being a huge target now for RG3, I feel like I could trade Gronk and get a great return for him. IMO, Forte would be a great return. He hasn't said yes just yet, but I think i could convince him.

Should I try to convince him, or stick with Gronk? There aren't too many teams that trade in this league so teams to trade with are slim pickens.

If he will do it - Absolutely. Take Forte and smile on your way to the bank. Stafford, Calvin, McCoy, Foster, Forte....

You may not lose another game.

I agree, however, there is no way I would consider that trade if I was the other dude.

You might offer something like Gronk and Hilton, or Lacy, etc... Just to sweeten the pot.

Says the Pats fan. Non biased opinions please.

An arguably top end tight end who may or may not actually be one fantasy wise for the rest of the season isn't enough for a definitely top end RB.

Not sure how undervaluing Gronk (assuming your valuation) makes me biased as a pats fan, though.

It is fair. Gronk can absolutely put up top numbers the rest of the year. I didn't say he definitely would. But there's a reason he is thinking about it. B/c it is fair but we both aren't sure if we wanna give up our players.

In the Barbarians league, I need Forte more than I need Gronk, imo. The reason I'm asking to trade Gronk is b/c I, myself, put less stock into the TE position. Maybe I shouldn't, but it's what I do. So I would maybe be ok riding Reed the rest of the year if it meant I pick up Forte.

I read your response wrong. My apologies. But while you laugh at me, he's mulling over my offer. So it isn't as asinine as you make it out to be.

So that makes it two people that would take Forte over Gronk. Good to know so far..... ;)

It's not even close. Which is why you're not even thinking about taking it.

If you're reffering to your offer, you missed my responses on the subject. And I'm not thinking about taking it b/c I don't need to trade with you at this point. I need Forte more than Gronk. If I had 4 RBs I could trust, Forte would absolutely be gone for Gronk to upgrade that position. But like I said, I like having that extra RB in my flex spot, hence why I want Forte more. Spin it anyway you want bro.

Make that three. Forte for Gronk would be a great deal for you.

This isn't even a debate.

If your league drafted today, where would Forte go?

He would be a slam dunk as a top 6 overall pick and you could make a case for him as high as 2 because most of the other elite RBs have not had their byes yet.

Gronk on the other hand?

He is elite in theory, but given the health risks and the struggles for the NE passing game, there is no chance he is taken before the middle of round 3 by an informed owner. The values here are not even in the same ball park.

If your guy takes this deal as is, you are trade raping him badly.

I don't even like Forte.. never have, probably never will, just doesn't score TD's often enough. . and I'd take Forte over Gronk any day.

Just to play devil's advocate for a second:

If Foster ends up being okay, he will be sitting 1 of McCoy, Foster, Forte and Lacy every week. He will also be sitting Ellington who's coming on. He will also be a Reed injury away from having to start crap at the TE position every week.

I understand that Forte for Gronk is lopsided at face value, but you have to look at his roster. I tend to be very concerned about Foster, so I would still make the trade, but it's not as much of a slam dunk as people are making it out to be.

What I'm saying is if he has 3 top 10 RBs (as he does with a healthy Foster) and he trades Gronk for a 4th, he fucked up. This trade all hinges on Foster's health.
