I like this because he is a good leader but as a realist he is going to be 35 years old and hasn't been relevant since 2016 our system we need TEs that can block I don't think he has much left in the tank

Part depth move, part insurance for a potentially injury prone Dissly? May be worth a look at least.

That's how I look at it... I don't view him playing 80% of the snaps...

Not a bad idea depending on the cost.

Sounds like he's coming in for a visit, as reported seconds ago on 710.

Five years ago? Sure. Today? No thanks. Hang on to Hollister and keep Dissly healthy. Find a cheaper alternative for depth. Olsen is going to be costly. Wouldn't mind it at all if we got Vannett back from the Steelers. Seems like he would be much cheaper than Olsen

I think Cam was whispering that he liked Russell's new hairdo. :D As for Olsen, love the guy as a player but need to spend the cap money in more pressing areas of need like the Dline. Olsen will likely want top TE money and although he's a good receiving TE, would not be a big enough piece to warrant a big signing, imo. Hollister showed he can catch the ball good enough. Dissly's injuries are a concern but he is very good when healthy. Hopefully, we get a season out of him to see just how good.

Plus the FO can add a TE in the mid rounds.

Yep. Not a huge cap hit, I think, with 1.5 million.

Seems like a big cap hit to me, with 5 mil guaranteed. No way that old man stays healthy for the entire season. Hope I'm wrong, but not a fan of this signing. Seems to me the first signing should be for the DL or at least the OL. Hate see them pissing away money on a over the hill guy.

My thoughts on the General forum, pasted here:

Eh doesn't hurt... although hurt is relative since there's a good chance him, Dissly, or Hollister will be hurt next year... lol.

Still, 1 year 7M with really no long term risk is fine. Seahawks have a ton of cap this year, and Wilson is a far better QB than Newton.

Not getting my hopes up but why not? B signing. If Olsen was 30 I'd give it an A+ but this can hardly be considered a 'prove it' contract. Buffalo/Washington are likely not winning the Super Bowl next year, so Seattle (only other team interested) was his best shot. That's clearly what Olsen is signing up for at the moment. A final shot at a Super Bowl... and Seattle had a decent shot of getting there if half their OLINE and all their RBs weren't out for the 9ers (division win/bye chance) and playoffs.

First off. Fuck you SportsHoopla. I have a Extreme hatred for ANYTHING CALGARY FLAMES. The C of red can piss off. Bad choice of ad for me

Now. I think having that veteran voice and presence could help Hossliter and Dissley. Heck probably help Metcalf as well.
