The Bengals have opted to switch the main practice field from last training camp to the one they'll use for the regular season, so camp's main practice field is the one adjacent to the Clay Wade Bailey Bridge. It is a little tight down near one end zone, and Green brushed up against the tree in a previous period chasing a long ball.

But Lewis said the play had nothing to do with the field.

"We practice here for a year on that field for an entire season. It's got nothing to do with the side of the practice field. It's the way he ended up coming down awkwardly," Lewis said. "We rather they all stay on their feet. I'd rather have an incomplete pass.

Camp report: Green OK, but may sit out awhile

No big deal. The image makes the rocks look closer than they really are. But still, I understand everyones concern since most teams do not have any hazards several yards off the playing surface. It is a concern for guys who do not know how to NOT go 110% for a ball or a yard, but during practice, you shouldn't be going all out in general. Just get the reps down, and then go balls to the wall during a game to prevent unnecessary injuries.

The Bengals need an upgraded practice facility. This has been the case for the past 10 years, but Mike Brown has just continued to ignore it.

I don't know why they don't just extend the area. It's not like it would cost a ton. Push the area back 10-15 feet (if possible). Add some cushion. Surely no one would have an issue with this. Well, except for Brown, who would have to pay for it.

I'm not sure how much more space the Bengals have actually been given down there. When they built those fields as a part of the new stadium complex nobody seemed to mind that there were some issues. After all, we were upgrading from Spinney Field -- Just about anything outside of hell would have ben an upgrade.

As it stands, Marvin doesn't use the practice fields during the season very much anyway (mostly because he's paranoid). He puts the players in the stadium, where they are out of sight. That's the real reason why he wants a bubble.

Marvin Lewis states that A.J. Green has a "knee bruise". That means he's torn his ACL and his career is over.

I just cant fathom an owner having almost 1 million dollars worth of product, and making them practice on that..Marv can sugar coat it all he wants, that field is garbage

It looks like my Freshman practice field was better than that piece of shit, and that thing was just a giant bowl that flooded anytime it rained for more than 15 minutes.

I just can't wrap my head around Mike Brown's thinking. I can understand being frugal and pinching pennies. Hell, I still drive a car that was made in 1994. But this guy could sell the team tomorrow for half a billion dollars easily, and probably much more. You're telling me dropping a couple million on a top of the line practice field is really going to hurt you, Mike? My old High School is in the process of building a new stadium that will cost about $5 Million. HIGH SCHOOL ASS HOLE! Have them practice inside the stadium for fuck's sake.
