Any of you fhegs going to try out the all-streaming Stadia system when it releases in November?


I just put my pre-order in for the Founder's Edition. $130 for the limited edition controller, Chromecast Ultra, and 3-months of the premium subscription plan.

35mpbs download speeds for 4k 60fps is recommended so i should be good there. They didn't talk any about upload speeds. So we'll see. Latency is the real question.

I imagine I will pick up the PS5 at launch next year as well though.

I'm willing to spend $130 early to roll the dice on the idea of 4k gaming on anything with a chromecast or chrome browser. I'm pretty invested in Google's "ecosystem" at the moment with the google assistant smart home stuff/Pixel phones/Wifi/ Chromecasts etc. and understand why others who aren't would want to play the wait and see card a little more than me. I've always been on the physical media bandwagon when it comes to games/movies but damn do I like the idea of having 4k 60fps anywhere with a good internet connection and to have all of that in a form factor as small as a chromecast for a relatively small price. I may regret it later but shit it's not like dropping $500 or $600 on a next gen console next year.

So got my Stadia in the mail yesterday while I was at work. Couldn't wait to get home and try it out.

But then i got home and still can't try it out. The idiots at Google forgot to send out anybody's activation codes. So nobody is apparently able to play.

The chromecast ultra sure is nice though.

lol my code came in yesterday and my controller comes in tonight. I think I read that they had some problem or something with the order of the codes being sent out.

Everything is running pretty smooth for me so far. I'm sure that will change sooner or later though. Some others across the interwebs are having lag issues. I'm not used to high end computer gaming or anything so maybe it looks/performs shittier to those people.
