That when the big point swing games come into play, SJ brings is "A" game by scoring 1 friggen goal... Every game matters, but yesterday shouldve been a given for a W and today volted SJ back out & Phoenix in... Dont they have 2 games left vrs Dallas?? Whoever the 2 games are vrs Pac division teams, you ca garentee they lose them too

Don't be stupid. Yesterday was a guaranteed loss before the puck was dropped (1-5 vs. the Ducks) and, if you watched any SJ/PHX games this season, you should have expected exactly 0 points tonight.

It's not fucking rocket surgery.

When two division opponents dominate the living shit out of you the whole entire fucking season (for 5 games to be exact.. 4 in the case of Phoenix), you are an idiot if you expect points out of the 6th and final game.

No shit I expected the loss rares... I expect this shithole roster'd team to lose every game. It was pretty much sarcasm, that A- Anahiem blows, and yet SJ has lost 5 games that they should be able to win, and B- Phoenix, yeah its phoenix, again, see A...

I expect the season to end just like this: SJ goes 1-3 or 2-2 ( I think theres 4 games left?) Misses the playoffs, then I do another one of my I told you so posts, everyone gets bent outa shape... Then SJ does more dumb shit in the offseason, Doug & Todd both stay on staff and I bitch & moan into Oct. til I get tired of typing...

MOST TALENTED SHARKS TEAM EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Are you even a Sharks fan, Likewall? Or do you want them to lose so you can pound your chest? Honest question.

of course he is a fan...but i don't blame him, lots of people on here drinking the Doug Wilson koolaid...time to wake up to reality!

make Clowe the new CAptain, at least he got some balls:

"I still think we can get some more juice from some people," Clowe said. "We've just got to bear down. Individually, you have to realize what's on the line. Do you want to play or do you want to go home? You have to find it within yourself. Whatever your role is on this team, you've got to do it now.

"If you've got 14 or 15 guys going this time of year, you're not going to win, especially against Dallas and L.A. You need everyone. We have to have all four lines rolling, and we need the tenacity. We can get the grit up a bit."

I ask that question because Likewall won't post much when the Sharks win, but when there's a losing streak it's "Likewall time".

Well they havnt really played great all season, and most of the wins havnt really been exciting. I honestly dont really recall an exciting game iv watched this year that got ga ga that Damn Im glad I tured into that!! And that same statment can be said for the whole board as pointed out before. Before I even check a sharks score on a game I missed, I can tell if they won or lost based on the total posts in GDT... When they lose their are tons, when they win, theres hardly any posts... It not that its "likewall" time. Last year I posted good & bad and my only bitch all season was the Nabby/Niemi debate. I really like the roster of the team last year. This year, ive been negative all season, cause that offseason still leaves a sour shit taste in my mouth that I was crucified for pointing out how shittastic every more was, with the expection of the heatly/havlet move which I said wouldt be bad if SJ did something with the extra money & havlet doesnt get injuried.

So yes, Im a fan... But im a very bitter fan for what Doug did to the team this year. Gaining crap while giving up what little prospects they had, making moves just for the sake of making a move, giving up draft picks & players they didnt need to etc etc etc...

Now excuse me while I ccheck my lotto tickets so I can buy this franchise and make some management changes...

I buy that and I can totally understand you being bitter/frustrated towards the team. There is a wide spectrum of Sharks fans on this board. Teal Kool aid drinking (I probably fall in here while trying to be objective), bitter, pessimistic, balanced, and everything in between. That is a good thing. We've been so accustomed to the Sharks winning ways during the regular season that we may have forgotten what it was like in the Al Sims days. The franchise has come a long way since then. I'll never forget that.

Anyway, I think the franchise is at a fork in the road right now, especially if they don't make the playoffs this season. It can either properly retool and make another run in a few years while staying relevant. Or it can continue to try for a Cup while making more win-now type moves and risk falling into mediocrity for a number of years.

what if they just brought in some gritty ass hard working blue collar types and stick with them for more than a year...maybe Doug needs to go first before we get someone in who can get those types, at least it would be entertaining passionate hockey again!

Do those type of players even exsist in the "new NHL"?? Where are the gritty guys that can bang & score?/ Where are the riccis of the world? I think they died with "Power forward" build... Seems all you have is, Sniper, Playmaker, SemiSniper/Pussy, DecentPasser/Pussy, Fast Guy That cant score, I Wanna be Tough but take Stupid Penalities Guy, Expansion is the only reason im the NHL, Human parking cone & Niemi...

Yeah, I get where Likewall is coming from too, and I feel the same way on a lot of those things. I think it just sometimes comes across that he is actually happy it's playing out this way. It has been shitty hockey for a lot of the season, and it's been tough to watch.
I think they only thing I really disagree with you on is I still am all for the Burns trade. Seto will never be more than he is, and I think Burns will just continue to get better. I would still take Havlat over Heatley, and him getting injured definitely cost the team this year. They are so much better with him in the lineup.
As for the other offseason moves, Wilson did try to improve the team. He went after Vrbata, Jagr, and Gagne, and probably others we didn't hear about. There was an article I read where Vrbata said the Sharks made him a very good offer, but he wanted to stay with the Coyotes. Adding him would have changed a lot of things. It's easy to say they should sign this guy or that guy, but there are a lot of other teams in the league trying to do the same thing.
For me, it's so frustrating to sit here and watch them not score. What the hell happened???!!! Did they age? Other teams figure out their style and adapt to it? I read an interesting article with Ken Hitchcock, and he said you just can't play puck possession hockey anymore. That the defenses are too fast, and he had to come up with a different style of play, which is what St Louis is now doing. Do we need another coach/philosophy here??

it was nice back in the days when the Sharks were perennial underdogs but fought tooth and nail, now we have fantastic talent and are perennial favorites yet they seem to under perform.

it's sort of a Bay Area sports mentality issue, i know it applies to many of our teams yet the Sharks have risen above and consistently made the playoffs and been in the discussion for a few years now which puts them under the microscope much more than some of the other franchises i suppose.

Guy just called in on the Hawks postgame show asking what the heck is going on in SJ and if DWil & todd should be fired... I forget the hosts name, but he was praising Todd as being a great coach, and said that Wilson should def. be on the hot seat, but doesnt think that eaither of them will be gone next season.

Why do people think Todd is a great coach?? He has horrible strategys and cannot change strats on the fly when its not working during a game.
