Am I the only one who thinks it would perfect irony if they got the deal done tomorrow?

I'm fairly sure that every day is April Fool's Day over at Bengals.com.

Wonder the ballpark numbers being discussed. If Romo and Flacco are getting close to 20 million a year I can't imagine Dalton's agent settling for much less than 15

I'm sure that's why Marv and Mike were acting like children last week..... Dalton's agent is probably looking for Flacco money.

At this point, since they, by their own admission, already botched the off season, why not wait until either after the draft, or after the season to work on a deal.
If he signs a big deal, and stinks the joint up next season, we're screwed. If he signs a big deal and a QB falls in the draft, and we pass on him, we're screwed.
Never mind, we're Bengals fans, we're screwed either way.

Fuggg Dalton! SHOW ME SHOW ME SHOW ME! Here is my prediction....We sign him to 4-5 STUPID ASS YEARS! He continues to throw those noodle arm passes to AJ which continues to frustrate AJ(reason Cincy hasnt started on a new deal) FO is beginning to wonder if AJ will show some Chad attitude on the field in terms of frustration...not the showboating but the "Dayum throw the ball right" attitude... He will have 2 games maybe 3 again where he throws 2-3 picks...We need that HYDE Kid from O State so we have 3 decent backs to run the ball...Limit this mofo's passes ALL YEAR! I also predict we MAY or MAY NOT make the playoffs this year and winning the BIG games they need to SHOW ME with this dude at the helm...SHOW ME SHOW ME SHOW ME! And thats how I feel....cant change it only PROOF and results will...Keep loving Dalton all you all want.... Cayenne Peppa...Love that name! LOL

Finally, some recognition that it's not about what YOU think needs to happen, but what the BENGALS want...they want Dalton, whether you, me, or billy bob down the street think he's terrible, or at worst should just play out this contract and see what happens...doesn't matter what WE want...

The bengals do what they do...and that's the bottom line.

sounds like they are just "kicking the tires"

if they resign dalton they need to let some high contracts go to stay at the minimum floor of 89%

MARK MY WORDS:
If we get this deal done, it will be a huge turning point in the right direction for the future of this organization! It shows that we are committed to developing young talent, rewarding deserved talent to keep it around and most importantly, as Charlie would say, WINNING!

This is could be a smokescreen. It could be an effort to leverage Dalton into a lower asking price on his contract.

But I thought this was an interesting comment from Pat Kirwin's last mock draft..

"24. Bengals. Dee Ford- He put on a clinic at the Senior Bowl and he could replace the departed Michael Johnson. Someone whispered to me that the Bengals could take a QB here, if the right one fell to them. I'm not buying it yet."

I'm not trying to change your mind to like the guy. I wish they would draft a guy, and/or would have brought in a serious vet to back him up/push him.

Here's the difference...I KNOW what the Bengals are going to do. I accept it. It doesn't mean I like it, but I live in reality, and the reality is: The Bengals LOVE Dalton (by all accounts). They want him here, they want him signed. So, instead of getting my panties in a twist and going around shouting out SHOW ME, SHOW ME, SHOW ME...I simply sit back and watch the train-wreck that is Bengals football and go into it fully aware that no matter how much I disagree, yell, scream, or shake my fist at Mike Brown and the Bengals, they will NEVER do things they way other teams do, or the way "we the fans" think they should be done.

We can argue all day long about bringing in someone else, and what we all think they SHOULD do, but it's simply not going to happen. Just look at their track record as proof. They've SHOWN ME....as you might say.
