Bruins:
Faced with back-to-back games over the weekend against the Rangers and Flyers, the Bruins captured three of four points by losing in the waning seconds of OT against the Rangers and winning in a shootout against the Flyers.
"It's good," Lucic said of the Bruins' successful weekend. "Two teams that are on top of the League and the Eastern Conference, two teams that have played well all season. It's great that we were able to get one yesterday and get that shootout win here today. We still want to end on a high note going into Washington on Tuesday."
Capitals:
They're coming of an OT loss in Pittsburgh, but there was a lot to like about the way the Caps played. They rallied from a 2-0 deficit and had a 3-2 lead in the third period, but the red-hot Evgeni Malkin scored in OT to keep the Caps from earning the extra point.
Washington will also be without Alex Ovechkin, who received a three-game suspension Monday for his hit on Pens defenseman Zbynek Michalek during the second period.
"Obviously it's a frustrating loss," Michal Neuvirth told the Caps' website, "but I think it was a good game. We battled hard. They got a lucky bounce at the end … it hit the boards and went right on (Malkin's) stick. It was an easy goal for him."
