Source? Also, I don't see why we need Ruutu, He's another Center and even though he has 23 its he is a negative player and averages 16 minutes a game. As far as what we lose, I have no idea. We shouldn't be sending out any of our forwards for those caliber players if we move any of them it should be for top tier talent that will be part of the long term plan. Gleason would be nice for the rest of the season in place of Lilja but I don't see him being part of the further with this team due to his current cap hit.

Ruutu makes ZERO sense. Though it wouldn't surprise me with Homer and taking on extra meaningless contracts that we don't have room for. Not only do we have a plethora of forwards who are just as good and/or better than Ruutu, we also have to bench a solid forward each game. Why add to that list?


I call BS on this if Ruutu is involved in the rumor.

Gleason is a very good defender and just what this team needs right now. The Ruutu part of the trade is interesting. Hes a gritty player that your team needs in the playoffs. He wont get tossed around like the Flyers did against the Bruins in last years playoffs. Where does he fit on this team? 3rd line center? Maybe Danny B moving to wing? Who knows but if Pronger is destined to go on LTIR and the money is available and Ruutu being a UFA next season. I would do it as long as the deal doesnt include any main pieces of this team (Including JVR).

I just want a stud dman and a goalie who can stand on his head from time to time. We have neither at this time. Timmonen is the closent thing, but he is playing with an injury and at some point, he is going to wear down.

Gleason I like. There is just no need for Ruutu. I think he only bumps up the trade value for Gleason if he is included. Just does not make sense. Hope this is nothing but a rumor.

i saw that today too, i find that very intriguing.. however, most people in the western conference, kings fans in particular, really dont like JJ.. and even though he seems like he'd be a hitter, it sounds like he is the same way i feel about pronger.. reputation for hitting when he doesn't actually hit

Awaz, I look at him more like I do Dion Phaneuf. He can crush people, has a huge shot, can skate with anyone, and is huge in front of the net. Yet somehow he doesn't dominate.
