2. The two guys we got for Rollins are tearing it up at Reading also. Meanwhile Rollins has the second lowest BA in the majors, ahead of Utley.

The credit you are suggesting Deano is really a blind-squirrel moment surrounded by one screw-up after another. That is what Amaro does. He hopes the things he tries works out but all too often they are just that-shots in the dark with a wing and a pray. Sorry dude, I can't render a braindead GM in-over-his-head any credit except what I have already stated.

I will give Amaro credit for signing Harang. That is working out. But there are so many failures I lost count. As far as Nola being a great signing I agree. But how much of that was Amaro? I think the Phillies are starting to listen to their Obscure stats man. Amaro aways chased what he thought was potential and ignored the important things.
It is scary to think that the Phillies might keep him around as a scout when he is through destroying the team as a GM.

give him credit for doing or not doing his job?? WTF? Amaro is responsible for running this team into the ground. it's shameful what has happened to Phillies since 2011.

Yeah, Amaro is a terrible GM, but if you can't acknowledge when he actually does something right then why bother discussing anything here? Just make one post that says Amaro Sucks and be done until he is fired. The Rollins deal was good and he actually got a pitcher that might play in the majors someday for Marlon Byrd. So the blind squirrel has found a few nuts, although it still might not be enough to get him through the winter.
And before you say it Retro, yes if it was up to me I would wait til he came down from the tree to stumble around looking for another nut and blow his little squirrel head off with a shotgun too. But he has made a couple deals that worked out
