Total WAR without pitchers hitting = 51.3
Correct me if I'm wrong, but my understanding of WAR is that it's supposed to gauge how many wins each player is responsible for about a replacement level player. A team full of nothing but replacement level players is expected to win 50 games. So with our WAR from fangraphs, we were expected to win 96-101 games this year. Am I misconstruing the use of WAR or did this team underachieve during the regular season?
