Getting Asche back will really help this lineup

Brignac and Hernandez filled in admirably, but Asche was on a tear before he went down, and he looks like he is picking up right where he left off if Minor League games are any indication of how a player will perform. Mayberry (who I have doubted in the past) has played great and should continue to start in center field. Even if he completely falls on his face, he's still probably better than Revere. This lineup is pretty cool. Note the OPS+ for each player. Every single player in our lineup other than Dom has a better OPS than league average. For what I would thought it would be, that's amazing.
1. Rollins SS 103 OPS+
2. Ruiz C 117 OPS+
3. Utley 2B 131 OPS+
4. Howard 1B 108 OPS+
5. Byrd RF 119 OPS+
6. Asche 3B 114 OPS+
7. Mayberry CF 133 OPS+
8. Brown LF 67 OPS+

How does OPS+ work, is 100 average, over 100 good and under 100 bad?

McCarthy was right last night when he stated that Asche is really coming on and the Phillies may be THE biggest turnaround in baseball. I for one acknowledge that I didn't believe a word of that way back when especially with you know who running the show.

It appears that if this roll continues, I may have to select from the menu a heaping pile of steaming crow for lunch. Yikes!

I still like Mayberry coming off the bench if there is a right handed starter. He has been unbelievable as a pinch hitter and he forces other teams to make pitching changes late in games.

I'd still start him, but if that's the case, I'd rather see Hernandez than Revere out in center field.

Also, if you told me before the season started that the Red Sox and Yankees would be scouting John Mayberry Jr in June I never would have believed it.

Yeah, if Hernandez can keep hitting a little I'd like to see him get some playing time as well. Plus a guy like Revere, if his knees or legs are anything less than 100% is just not that valuable.

:agree: Revere's left knee looked fairly unstable last night. He should be put on IR or get traded.
