In a Twitter post this morning, Smith claimed “we all know” why he hasn’t had more run as a starter in this league.

We all know what it is.. but the reality I live with when I wake up is all that matters to me.. my whole life a dream I can’t thank God enough https://t.co/EVMBf86JPa

The 21st century list of best Jets QBs isn't a fun list:
1) Favre
2) Pennington
3) Take your pick from...i'm not even going to go there.

Good luck Geno Smith in 2022. The reason he hasn't played much in the last 6 years is because he's signed with teams who had better starting options at QB.

Ray Lucas? I'll take Depressingly Bad QBs for $400 now.

Geno Smith sucking is probably one of the reasons that no one drafted Mahomes ahead of the Chiefs so I guess I should be thankful for him struggling coming out of a gimmick offense in college.

People have been dumping on Drew Lock for years and he ran a gimmick offense in college and got drafted in rd2, too. Race might be an issue in the NFL but Geno Smith it aint with you.

I think the second Kyler Murray went #1 overall as a massively undersized black QB from the Big 12, every other QB lost their excuse imo.

He was always the exact same guy. Flat out bad. It is why you cant just look at the team's record when judging a QB.

Simple fact is that some of us here on this board could lead an NFL team to the playoffs if we played for a team with a GREAT defense and a solid running game. And in Sanchez's case his 1st couple of seasons he had exactly those 2 things. His rookie season the team was 9-7 with the #1 defense and the #1 rushing attack in the league. It is actually hard to lose 7 games in a season when you have those 2 things and explains just how bad Sanchez was.

Yeah, if that Jets era team has a top 10 QB (Matt Stafford coming from the same draft, for example) then they probably win at least 1 Super Bowl.

Rex Ryan would have footprints all over the SB trophy.

That was the year that the Chiefs traded for Matt Cassell. He could have Dilfer'ed that team to a SB win.

Richard Todd
Ken O'Brien (he was drafted over the great Marino)
:noidea:
Looking at Jets QBs are like looking at Bears QBs.
surprising they are not one of the gazillion teams who have had Fitzmagic. He'd be high on that list.

actually Fitzy did spend a couple seasons as their starter :suds:
Problem is. Maybe after O'Brien the starting QBs usually only started 3 or so seasons. (or less)
I would imagine O'Brien & Namath probably hold all their records. Makes me feel kinda bad for the Jets.

Man, just assumed if he didn't make that list he couldn't have been there as he's better than most they had. Should have checked.

And, yes, he's better than many of the disasters my team has trotted out.
