Say what you want about Beltran, but I hope they find a way to resign him (or a dude with his stat line) for next season as our starting LF.

It really seems unlikely, given how others will be bidding for him with stronger offers, more hittery parks, and potential DH slots for the later years. And if we did keep him, he'd insist on RF not LF.

Have I ever mentioned how much I totally and completely despise giving up leadoff walks?

Definitely a shared hatred of baseball fans, especially against teams that love to run.

I'm sure somebody has told him this before, but Runzler needs to understand that it's okay to throw 93 on a 3-2 pitch as long as he knows where it's gonna go. Everything doesn't have to be 96 MPH.

Pretty pathetic thread for such a wonderful game. I blame myself... and the stupid motion that I just finalized. Off to the court. Have a great day, fellas. Only 6.5 back of the Wild Card with 13 to play! :)... :(

More hittery nice! If you are an average hitter this might be a problem, however Beltran (and Pablo and Posey...) has proven that if you are a good hitter this park is hittery just fine.

I think the Giants could convince him to play LF that doesn't phase me at all. Whether or not they want to pay him is another thing... but they have overpaid for far less deserving players (you know who you are you worthless bums!) and they wouldn't have to pay much more to get Beltran who actually does deserve (in the ridiculous world of baseball salaries) it.

I'm not convinced by any of these excuses. Sign the big bat or face the consequences of employing a lineup riddled with .235s.

LF wont be an issue. He's insisting on playing right because RF > LF in FA$$$$.

IF, and that's a big if, he signed with us, it will probably be his final contract playing in the field. Nate is the superior Fielder now, and Beltran is the superior bat. LF is where you hide your best OF bat/worst defender....

Spent the day in the city....watched a great game! Timmy looked great today, his ball had tons of life on it.

Probably my last game of the year...glad it was a win!
