Boch said he wants to try Belt in the 2 spot against right-handers and Pence in the 2 spot against lefties.

Also, Edwin Escobar is scheduled to start tomorrow in Oakland instead of Volgy. Apparently because of the possibility of rain.

Naturally, the first ball of the evening goes to Morse. No problems.

A's hit a ball to each outfielder, Pagan makes a nice catch.

Pablo is squaring up the ball lately, but he's been AT&T'd two nights in a row.

Jaso takes Lincecum deep on a first-pitch, get in fastball. At the beginning of the inning too. A's are being aggressive so far.

Lincecum takes a liner off the ankle, looks like. He's still on the ground, this could be bad.

Needs to be assisted off the field. Uh oh.

Very unfortunate circumstances for Tim. He was pitching well, hopefully it's just a bruise.

Baggs points out that if Lincecum's injury isn't serious, and he only needs to miss one start, Giants can roll with a 4-man rotation until April 19th. Also, more reason for Giants to carry Petit and Huff in the bullpen, keep as many innings down there as possible. That was the demise of the pitching last year, when Gaudin had to move to the rotation and there was no innings eater.

Come on, Runz, show you can throw strikes.

edit: well, that grooved fastball was a strike.

From 2 outs and no one on to a bases loaded triple. :L

4-0 A'sssss. That sounds familiar......

Good news. Hope he recovers quickly. The video replay looked nasty.

Bad news, those 87 mph "fastballs" he was throwing.

I wasn't even looking at the mph. Yikes. He was locating well at least, outside of a hanging slider or two.

Lincecum described the feeling at the moment as "dead-leg". Said he's walking on it now. Doesn't know the status of his next start, to me it sounds like he's a good bet to make it.

I know it's spring training but the Giants bats are flat. I don't know if it's just the A's having the Giants number or what but these last two days the team looks like shit at the plate.

A fine example of why Runzler will be in AAA.

Bullpen numbers tonight, non Runzler edition:

4.1 IP 3 H 0 ER 1 BB 2 K.

BB9-Buster-Rev-Hacktor-Stamos 0-14

Another wet fart of a game.
