Games that's got away 2024

As of today on June 10th Seattle is up 5 games and the only team in the ALW above .500. Quite remarkable considering our offense generally sucks. Friday was a disaster so I got to thinking a lot of pennant races comes down to the final week generally winning by a game or 2 or just missing out on the WC by a game or 2 so lets post games that got away. I'll start it off with the obvious debacle Friday in KC. Up 7 early and took the lose.

Every team has games that they should have won but didn't all the team can do is just move forward to the next day.

Yes that's a given everyone moves onto the next day. This thread if the Mariners lose out by a game or two would be interesting to see as to how it happened.

Most seasons in the last 20 years agreed but the last 2 they've been in 1 postseason and just missed out last year. Now we have both Houston and Texas struggling so it'll be interesting if the Mariners can maintain and hopefully add real piece or pieces to the roster. Up 5.5 on Texas and 7.5 on Houston is a nice lead but still lots of baseball left.

Totally missed the 3 dot sarcasm cause I'm a tad dumb at times. lol! Agreed that win last night kind of makes up for that hideous lose in KC.

Nope, not 2 different things. You want to give the organization a pass because "Every team has games that they should have won but didn't..."; well we are the ONLY organization to miss the particular mark that you also seem to want to give this administration a pass on... that's hypocritical.

And, to be fair to the Mariners (the players/team, not the organization/manager as those fucks don't deserve our grace), I think that Friday's game is the only one this season (so far) that really belongs in this thread. The only other one that looks like it could maybe be considered is the extra inning loss in Colorado that went to the 10th at 0-0 on 4/21, and that's only because Colorado is such a shitty team.

They did take 3 of 4 from CWS but had a chance in extras and blew it plus Texas won.

This team has a chance to contend for a World Series for many years to come. The question is the cheap ownership willing to trade for 2 bats or wait until 2026ish for the farm system to provide them.
