this is about what we can hope for with Rg3 . no where near worth the cost we paid to get him but we need a mix of read option /movement plays and pocket passing

easy reads shorter throws , focus on the run game and forget the franchise qb BS

now a lot is up to robert . he has to get in the film room , he has to listen to the qb coach , he has to learn to slide , get rid of the ball and avoid hits . the ball is in his court

Not unless he solves his decision paralysis. Short routes require timing and instant, presnap reads. There can be no hesitation on those throws else the LB will either pick it off or take crowder' head off.

That's a given or there is no hope and it's a very real concern. But the thing Griff does best, and SM said the same thing when he described Griff as a prospect, is the deep ball. So why would I assume he will be confined to short throw game manager status?

I've seen nothing from RG3 that indicates he can be any more than a mediocre drop back passer. Cousins needs another look during TC.

RGIII has the potential to be a pocket passer. Even if he doesn't, he can tweak his game to be a modified version of one. If he's strictly a game manager, we're going to have to put a lot of pieces around him like Seattle has with Russell Wilson. Remember that Seattle got away with a Superbowl appearance this year with Wilson passing for 217 ypg, 20 TD / 7 INT. (For some perspective on those numbers: Alex Smith played one less game, averaged the same yard per game and had 18 TD / 6 INT.)

he can still kick out a long ball when needed

This will depend on the o-line. Any deep pattern requires time, and if your o-line can't give you that, you can't throw a deep ball in the first place. There are, of course, other factors, like the running game; but if that o-line can't hold up, you're done.

Well we have certainly improved the 2 weakest issues in pass pro with a new RT and a new 3rd down back who excels at pass protection. Put that with new challenges along the interior and I expect better protection

Of course as we all know it wasn't always the protection with Robert But I look for that to improve too.

I agree. I hope they seriously take a look at Cousins and give him a fair opportunity to take the job. Cause I believe he could. It's just like the Redskins to give up on a QB just because of some bad decisions in what really was his first starts as a pro. He certainly is the better pocket passer and if RG3 doesn't want to be the running QB that made him a superstar again than I really don't think he will be in this league much longer. When he runs more he's more tuned to the game and has his mojo on high. Sitting back tossing his dump offs he just aint all there and the offense stalls. KC will be the 2nd string if anything and I believe will get playing time this year and will shine and a new age will be upon us.
