Because this lineup has accomplished a lot in the past two games.

Where's Shaw!?!? Yes, I realize he is slashing .192/.288/.288 in September. That's bad. But since September 15th, he's been hitting .281/.378/.344. But he is 0 for his last 8 so he gets to not play at all.

Yet consider the rest of the outfield production in September:
Blanco - .175/.221/.254
Hanson - .188/.204/.375
Hernandez - .167/.225/.318
Pence - .254/.267/.424
Slater - .194/.242/.226

So how does benching Shaw to end the season help in any way?

This is pretty amazing..... the Giants need to score 36 runs to match last year's total. Last year was fooking awful, and the pitching had a lot to do with that, but damn this team was worse offensively than last year's group.

Er, as sfgrtb points out...

The 10th best prospect in the draft...

So...

The dogs are already guaranteed a playoff spot, and will win this game.

But if the Rox win, than a 163 will be played between the Rox and dogs with the loser as the visitor in the WC game.

If the Brewers and Cubs both have the same result today, they will also have a 163 with the loser hosting the WC game.

That can't be right. All those moves last offseason were to shore up the offense.

I guess it would be appropriate for this season to finish in a blow out loss to the Dodgers, in SF, being no hit, to lose the season series.

It doesn't get more SF.

Nope, pitching was the weak link. I've been told this many times.

Nothing to see here . . . other than will Bochy let Shaw bat one more time? Makes no sense why he's gotten all of 1 at bat so far this series. I mean, I know the whole line up that Bochy keeps trotting out there rivals the Yankees and all . . .

I get giving Pence all the play he can handle. Especially at home. That makes sense.

But why give Blanco the same treatment? He is NOT Hunter Pence.

:noidea: Plus, Pence has the best numbers among all outfielders this month. No one deserves to play from that group but since Bochy has to put three names on the lineup for outfielders, Pence is the most deserving of the bunch, outside of what he's done for the org up to this year. Blanco just shows how Bochy still has trouble playing the kids if either he isn't forced to do so or if the rookie isn't lighting the world on fire.

There won't be any Shaw today. Sure, Tomlinson pinch hits and so does d'Arnaud but Shaw, he's 0 for his last 8. He doesn't deserve any more at bats. :L

It seems that there is a possibility that the Braves don't get the 9th pick in this year's draft - Compensation for Braves uncertain as top pick enrolls at junior college
