Game #16 Miami Dolphins vs Patriots 12/29/2019

Many will say that this game is not important and that the Patriots should not expose the starters to potential injury in a meaningless game.

The Patriots stand at 12-3 and have suffered defeats against the Ravens, Chiefs and Texans.

The loss to the Ravens (12-2) gave the ravens the #1 Seed and home field throughout the playoffs. To lose that position, the Ravens would have to lose today against the Browns and next week against the Steelers

The loss to the Chiefs (10-4) is the critical loss because the Chiefs can only achieve a bye if the Patriots lose to the Miami Dolphins next week and the Chiefs win against the Bears and the Chargers.

The Texans (10-5) are of no consequence regardless of what happens.

This game is critical for the Patriots to win. It will provide an extra week (bye) to heal wounds and prepare for what could be the final home game of the 2019 season, most likely a rematch against the Kansas City Chiefs.

The Patriots need to come out with the same intensity they had in yesterday's game against the Bills and Brady learned yesterday that he has more targets than Julian Edelman.

Patriots have to immediately take charge and not lift their foot off the pedal until the last second ticks off.

I can see the Dolphins putting up a fight for a hot minute but ultimately the Pats will pull away.

NE should kill the Dolphins, but this rivalry is a strange one.

I saw some very encouraging signs on the offensive side of the ball in the Bills game yesterday. Start with the O-line, they gave Brady time and a pocket to step up into and he looked like his old self.

9 different guys caught a pass? That is huge.

N'keal Harry getting some targets and touches and he looks like a player.

Run game made some plays and Brady's O put up just over 400 total yards against a damn good defense.

Unless they get a big hand from the Bears tonight, they have to play this one to win it to get the bye. Starting offense still needs to get some more reps together, too.

Crucial game next week. Everyone needs to play. Should be a win but the Dolphins are a strange bunch when they play the Patriots. Very glad it's a home game!

Ryan Fitzpatrick looked like a combination of Johnny Unitas and Joe Namath. The Miami defense tried to give the game away but Fitz wouldn't let them.

The game is in Foxboro and the weather forecast is for rain and temps in the low to mid 40's.

Patriots will not have any cold or weather advantage. Although the Dolphins haven't had to play in really bad conditions or cold, they did lose both games against the Giants and Jets three and four weks ago in New York, both games.

Patriots cannot take this game lightly.

Since you asked I have no idea with this team right now. They really can't afford another win and NE needs it. They can't run the ball worth a lick but if rainy passing should be tough. Completely banged up but new guys seem to step up. Either way I'd be shocked if they won.

Can't disagree about winning but we've seen enough good signs to be positive about the future. Well everyone but SP as he doesn't believe in properly rebuilding through the draft and FA but that's another story. Either way coughing up that game in OT wouldn't have been horrible either. Could have the second pick and used it to trade back or take Young. I'm ok building the lines so QB can come next year or who knows Rosen may still step up.

This is big because the Patriots then have to face the Titans or Steelers in the WC game instead of having a week off. Then, the Patriots will have to play the Chiefs in Kansas City in the Divisional Round. The Ravens get the lowest seed and it won't be the Pats.

That may add up to 15 or 16/17 (w/xp or 2 conversion), not 100% sure, but think so.
