Jared Goff just won’t quit. Since he’s gotten a healthy group of receivers and running backs around him, Goff has been absolutely lights out. Over his past five games, Goff completed over 69 percent of his passes, threw for 1,311 yards and eight touchdowns, and hasn’t had an interception. Against the Minnesota Vikings, Goff was as close to perfect as he’s ever been in Detroit.

Going back to Detroit’s matchup against the Giants in Week 11, Goff has shown an ability to show patience and poise when the defense sends a blitz. Against the Vikings, Goff was 10 of 13 for 101 yards and a touchdown—his 41-yard throw to Jameson Williams. Goff’s 124.2 passer rating when blitzed was the highest for any quarterback with at least 13 dropbacks against a blitz in Week 14.

From watching the game just once—and it being from the stands no less—it was pretty clear Buggs was making life difficult for the Vikings interior linemen. Digging into his premium stats was an eye-opener.

Buggs recorded five pressures (one sack, two hits, two hurries), a 16.7 pass rush productivity mark (PFF’s formula that combines sacks, hits and hurries relative to how many times they rush the passer), and a 27.8 percent pass rush win rate. For all three of those illustrative statistics of just how effective Buggs was at disrupting the middle of Minnesota’s offense, Buggs ranked first among all interior defensive linemen with at least 19 pass rushing snaps.

Buggs, a free agent signing in late July, has emerged as a key piece to the Lions pass rush.

I missed almost 20 minutes real time Sunday of the game and not once during the time I was actually watching did I notice number 95. The snap counts are out

Romeo Okwara: 25 (38%) — 3 (10%)
We might be Okwaraless next season. Of course we may double up on Sewell's so that would be a plus.

Romeo looks stiff and not the same when running. Here's a clip where he's lined up on the far-right side on the defensive line as a 9-tech. He is not anywhere near 100% after 14 months. He is stiff and labored when running.

Having Paschal and Cominsky as the Big/Closed ends - if they re-sign the latter - while adding Hutch and Houston to the mix may make 2 of the 3 defensive ends - R. Okwara, Charles Harris and J. Okwara expendable. Julian is the less expensive of the three to retain.

I don't believe Holmes leaves the cupboard somewhat bare going into the draft having only Paschal, Cominsky, Hutch and Houston.

He is also the least useful though.

True, however retaining him until a replacement is actually on the roster is relatively easy and inexpensive. Releasing Charles Harris and more than likely Romeo Okwara would give Holmes an additional 7.5M and 4M respectively in cap space.

Julians 2023 cap hit is only 1.569M and if waived a cap savings of 1.282M. He is one player that can be waived after the draft at any time.

I had those cap space savings backwards from the above post.

Romeo's cap savings would be 7.5M
Harris' cap savings would be 4M
