Making an early thread, game day again. 4pm start on ESPN +, I'll be at Boots in the Park in Norco enjoying country music and looking at the cow girls. The GF got me these for my birthday so I'll have to be subtle about it.

=)~~

The return of Dunno to LA, curious what kind of reception he will get. He forced his way out but considering the state of the franchise looks like he was just ahead of the game. Franchise is a mess and has a losing culture vibe about it even with the win on Thursday.

No reports out yet but I'm thinking Kuemper gets the call again. Not sure if the new guys Laughton and Joseph will play yet but hope they do. I'll have to catch the replay tomorrow but will be checking the score at the concert. Hope the younger players get to stay in, if Buster returns one of them will sit which I don't agree with - the last few games has been refreshing seeing them play hungry and hard. If anything Buster should be scratched but Holly still has his eyes on the POs so he will most likely check in.

Habs are currently in WC1 in the East but one point out of third in the division. Pretty nutty when they have 76 points, that would be first in the Pacific. They Kings are 4 points out of a PO spot currently so the points matter.

And speaking of, with the win last night 6-5 in a SO against Montreal Anaheim leap frogged Vegas for PD1. Who had that on their bingo card? I didn't. They also traded a conditional 1st for John Carlson from the Caps, shoring up that blue line.

He played 17 seasons with Washington, been reading Caps fans unhappy with how a franchise legend was moved, reminds me of the Quick situation. But this was not an emotional move, it was best for the franchise. Would be interesting to see what happens with Doughty this summer entering his last season on this contract and also a Kings legend. Curious if he will want to move to a contender to give it one last shot but I can absolutely see him saying no to any deal to finish in LA, POs or not.

Good move for Anaheim and Verbeek clearly signaling they are headed for the POs after 8 seasons out. Good for them, that's what happens when you don't screw up your high draft picks and let them develop properly.

Habs are also the second highest scoring team in the league, and that's including the sink hole Dunno (who has scored 4 times now for the Habs after going goalless in LA for 30 games). Their PP is ranked seventh so staying out of the box will be important. They have the 27th ranked PK but the way the LA PP is that probably won't matter, they'll somehow manage to give up a SH goal it's so bad.

Magic 8 Ball says: You Can Count on It.

Let's Go Kings!

Looking like Laughton won't play today coming from Canada although both he and Joseph joined the team yesterday.

Joseph expected to to play on L3 with Connors/Wright and Ward. If Buster unable to go Glass Boy will be C2. Trade this guy already, both of them actually. We will have to wait until after the season.

Also looks like game will be on FDS in market.

Was not able to watch .
Do we need to fire a goalie?
Or was the defense tired?
Or is the new coach upping their lottery chances

Randomly at the game. New look Kings actually looked great. Outshot Montreal 36-16 before the collapse. First period was like 14-1 shots and 3 PPs that actually looked good. But to only be up 1-0 was not enough. Jared Wright with the incredible hustle play to setup Laughton's goal. Also thought LA would challenge that Montreal 1st goal. They called timeout, just to debate it and eventually not challenge. Not sure what that was about.

Kings standard endgame collapse is tiresome for sure. Complete control. Up 3-2. Moore penalty. Montreal scores in like 15 seconds. Slafkovsky just worked the Kings. Maybe guard that guy? Anyway. Next shift icing. Montreal scored again immediately after that. It's just a different team at the end of games. Kings step off the gas a little and it's over.

I like some of the new guys. I know no Kuzmenko or Armia, but I'm not sure it matters. But it's the Pacific, so some version of 3 teams needs to get in, and it still could be LA.

Looks like I had more fun at the concert than the Kings did. This girl was flirting with me all night and annoyed the GF, funny stuff.

Great show, glad I missed the game. This team is done.
