Don't be a jabroni.
Game day again, 530pm start time on FDS. Going to miss this one tonight since Ms. Puck II has a softball game ending at 6pm and then we're heading straight to another HS to catch Pucky Jr I's orchestra performance. I'll have to catch the replay when I get home, hopefully not a shit show.
This is the last game of a three game trip and so far the results have not been good - completely outclassed against Dallas and not as bad but bad on the scoreboard against the Blues. The Hawks are terrible but just came off a 6-3 win against Anaheim in CA Saturday so this has the potential ot be one of those trap games. Coming back to CA 0-3 in a span of four days would be disastrous and speaks of bigger issues as the stretch run is here. The Kings have a home heavy schedule the rest of the way as we know but that's a lot of games (23) until the season ends on April 17, essentially a game every other night.
The Kings are expected to have Kuemper in net tonight and to go with the traditional 12/6 with Burroughs and Clarke as the scratches. The top three lines won't change but Thomas is set to slot in as RW4. Clarke clearly has regressed (well I guess you'd have to be somewhat progressing to actually regress) and it doesn't look like he has the confidence of the coaching staff but more importantly in himself. I am starting to wonder if what we are hearing that he may be available has legs and will be moved out this week before the TDL.
Chicago just moved Seth Jones to FL so he is gone (and OT, Tkachuk was put on LTIR with an apparent groin injury that he suffered at the 4 Nations Tournament and isn't expected to play for the rest of the season...which means he will be activated on Sunday when the TDL is over and the cap doesn't count anymore. So FL could realistically make another trade and pull the Vegas and Lightning route icing a team well over the cap for the POs) and Spencer Knight, who came back in that deal, is expected to get his first start as a Hawk. I remember him being decent as a Panther and the heir to Bobrovsky but slipped a little bit not to mention Bobrovsky still has one more year left on his 7 years/$70 million deal so they shipped of Knight and got something for him instead :::cough cough Blake cough cough:::. Should see our old buddy Martinez in the lineup, I bet he's tired of losing too and I don't expect him back in Chicago after this season when he becomes a UFA. The irony he's playing for the team he eliminated in the same building in G7 of the WCFs in 2014. Tske note, I bet Nickson mentions that at least 5 times during the broadcast.
All in all I am expected a much more inspired game but something is off with this team especially on the road so sadly they will come home losers tonight - maybe an OT/SOL point. Prediction 3-2 Hawks, goals by Foegele and Fiala. The Facilitator with a useless assist again.
Let's Go Kings!
