Don't be a jabroni.
Game night again, the last one before the 4 Nations break and third in four nights for LA. Game time is 730pm on FDS. I'm still doing crap for the Super Bowl party tomorrow (if anyone who's local wants to come, message me or text and I'll give you the address. Starts at 1pm and ends about 9pm) so I'll have this on and running around like a madman in the house.
Nothing new to report on the skater front, expect the same 18 skaters as last night. If Jill chooses 7/11 Burroughs and Englund still available to check in. However Kuemper will not be available tonight for personal reasons, assuming it's family related since he just had a kid two days ago. Thus the Kings recalled Copley and have a decision to make, play Rittich on the B2B or play Copley. Curious what they'll choose, my guess is Copley because he's a fan favorite and the Kings are at home.
Lewis gets honored tonight for 1000 games, it was scheduled for January against Calgary but the fires postponed that game so tonight it is. Expect a delayed start instead of 730pm.
The Ducks have won five of the last six so they're on a little roll, probably the best hockey I've seen them play in a few years. Perfect opportunity to play spoiler and send the Kings into the break on a sour note as well as ding that NHL best 17-3-1 home record. This is the third Freeway Faceoff meeting of the season but first in LA, the Kings won both previous games in Anaheim. Should be a good game.
Prediction: Kings 4-2 with goals by Fiala since he's hot, Kempe, Jeannot and TOTM with his ninth goal but fifth into an empty net. Buster gets knob gobbled again because he made a dainty 20 foot pass from his zone, Laferriere carried it through the NZ through 3 guys and into the OZ, makes a great pass and Fiala snipes it. But that was all Byfield (that's freaking gold BTW my man). Kings go into the break on a high note and get some much needed rest.
Let's Go Kings!
