Don't be a jabroni.
It's game day again, 730pm on FDS. The start of 6 straight at home and three in four nights before the 4 Nations break.
Nothing new to report, Anderson still out with the hand and looks like Jill will go 12/6 tonight. Kuemper to start most likely.
The Kings have played the most road games of any team so far this season and I believe 20 of the final 31 will be played at Staples. That might help get them on a roll heading into the POs barring them getting passed up by either Vancouver or Calgary. The Kings home record is still the best in the NHL at 15-3-1 and a poor 12-14-5 on the road. Two big points on the line, need to keep the Flames and Canucks at bay.
Montreal dropped 5 in a row until they beat San Jose last night so this is a B2B for them. Montembeault to start since Dobes started last night, pretty amazing story on Dobes if you haven't read up on it yet.
Doughty and Gavrikov to be the D1 pairing with Anderson out, last I recall on paper these two looked good but on the ice they looked like shit. Regardless, that's what they're rolling and the other pairs will stay the same unless Englund or Burroughs check in but I doubt it.
Nice to see Dunno and TOTM get on the board last game, so basically we will have to wait until the season finale for them to score again. Need guys like Buster, Turcotte, Foegele going and especially Kopitar. As consistent as he has been I don't think I've ever seen a colder stat line for him than I did in January, brutal. But that could be said for 90% of the team with how they offense dried up.
Prediction: Kings 3-2, goals by Laferriere because he's from NJ but has a French name, Kempe and Foegele. Habs fans reminded again 1993 should have been LA if not for cheating tunnels and sticks.
Let's Go Kings!
