Don't be a jabroni.
It's game day again, 5pm start on FDS. I'll be able to catch most of this one, just need to cart Ms Puck II to Crumbl Cookie at 4pm. Anyone ever had one of these? They're like $5 a cookie and a craze, I'm not a huge sweet eater so I don't get it but whatever child. Can't believe we are almost at the midway point of the season.
No real news to report except Edmundson may be a scratch from the flipping over incident last weekend and Englund may check in. Edmundson did go through the full skate as usual but was in a non contact red jersey earlier in the week. Hopefully he is OK to go, he has been a nice pickup although at way more than I expected him to sign for but apparently there were multiple suitors bidding on him. Kuemper the expected starter, he was named one of the NHL Three Stars of the week for last week's work. I'm expecting the 11/7 again.
Winnipeg is leading the Central Division so this will be another big test, the Kings dismantled them 4-1 in November in what I would consider was kind of the start of this little mini run. They were leading the entire NHL at that point and the Kings were pretty methodical in taking them down. Hoping for a repeat performance tonight. The Kings and Jets will be sporting LAFD stickers on their helmets to support our first responders here in CA, thought that was classy by Winnipeg - more class from a team in the tundra than Mayor Ass and the idiot Newsome have done. Shameful.
And as always, a bunch of ex Kings we should see tonight in Kupari, Iafallo and The Legend. Not expecting much from the first two but for whatever reason (hate?) The Legend seems to thrive against LA (5GP/4G/1A/5P since he left). Seems to find some extra motivation to stick it to LA whenever he can. Iafallo scored a nice wraparound goal late in a game last week to win it for them, he's in their B6 where he really belongs. Crazy to think he was LW1 here for so long. Kupari is well...Kupari, Euro HOS basically. Damn did the Kings biff that pick (20OA 2018) , K'Andre Miller was still on the board at 22. Again, brings up my puzzle of what has changed since Blake took over, lots of whiffs where as these picks should be foundational pieces.
I'm expecting a physical game, the Jets are big and skilled, the first line is The Legend, Connor and Scheifele. All three guys are skilled and come at you so the defense needs to be ready. Hellebuyck the expected starter in net. Connor is a pure goal scorer so I wouldn't be surprised to see him get on the scoresheet.
Prediction: Kings lose this one 4-3. Goals by Buster to buy him another 15 game reprieve for being a now show, Gavrikov and Kempe.
Let's Go Kings!
