Game day again, 1pm start on FDS. I'll be at this game and have tickets in S215, I specifically bought them there to honor Ox because his season seats were in the same section. It'll be strange because I sat with him so many times over the years there so I'll definitely be thinking of him. Amazing man and influence in my life still to this day.

Been seeing a woman since August and this will be her first live NHL game and I told her she is in for a treat not only with the rivalry picking up again between the Kings and Oilers but also because she will see the best hockey player in the world live too. It's my first game since March 2023 (Vancouver) so it's been a minute but excited to go. If anyone is around just post here or if you have my nunber text me and first beer is on me.

Not much to say on this one, it sure feels like these two are headed for a PO matchup fir the fourth year in a row if things stand. I'm still skeptical of this team and could see them miss or barely make a WC spot so this isn't a given but sure looks that way. The Kings have one of the best home records in the league and the Oilers have won 11 of their last 13 and are third best on the road so something is going to give today.

Dunno should be back in the lineup so the usual line combinations should appear. It's the first of a B2B so the Kings didn't hold a skate today also being an early start, so we don't know who the goalie will be. I'd like to see Rittich but we know Jill loves his defacto starters.

The Kings ran the 11/7 all seven games of the road trip but against Washington the 12/6 wad expected until Dunno was a late scratch. Looks like it was just a maintenance day for him and nothing serious but we don't know what format Jill will deploy today.

The Oilers are the Oilers so expect a lot of ankle whacking from Draisaitl and both Arvidsson and Foegle will be facing their former teams. Foegle left Edmonton because he wanted a bigger role and he has fit in nicely in LA. Arvidsson, well he's been Arvidsson with time on IR and IMO no delivering value on that contract he signed there. But he was a solid King and looking forward to seeing him.

Two big points for either team as the prize but I'm calling a 3-1 Kings win. Kempe, Turcotte and Helenius with his first NHL goal. Arvidsson with the Oiler goal because that's what happens when ex Kings come home. The win is for Ox.

Let's Go Kings!

I'm in Montana where sports betting is legal. Tempted to throw a $100 on Edmonton and hope Kings win. Big measuring stick game to see if anything has changed between these two, and until we see something, you gotta assume Edmonton is still in the driver's seat vs LA.

Have fun at the game though. 200 level are def some of my favorite seats. Watched a lot of the 2012 run from those. Hopefully see some goals and some fights.

Montucky is actually on my list of places to move after the kids leave. Never been there but it looks beautiful and calm.

Ten minutes in and this feels like same old same old. Soft ass rebound by Kuemper there, leading to first goal. But Kings on their heels mounting almost no rush or offensive presence of their own.

Before the Buster goal, all action at the other end. Kings need to get some sustained pressure.

And yeah, that rebound was awful even from the other end of the rink.

Really nice goal. Just didn't overthink it and took it right to the net. Would love to just see more of that all day. Even if it doesn't go in.

Turcotte shift before that creating little turnover in the Edmonton zone. Just really like that guy and hope he keeps going.

Skinner swimming on the Foegele goal. But Kings def take it. Good presence in Edmonton zone and that stuff will happen if you can keep it in their zone.

Lol on that PK. Edmonton scores on their PP in 5 seconds. Just a broken record.

Kings actually had some decent chances 5 on 5. Fiala move was actually really cool and Kopitar couldn't handle that Kempe pass.

Ouch. Fatty turnover from Gavrikov. Kings looking pretty solid 5on5 up until then. Fiala looks good. Just gotta get some finish in there.

Brutal, right in front of me as well. Bang bang play but Kuemper looks off to me. Guess we will see Rittich tomorrow vs the Flyers.

Big third coming up, need a few goals. Fiala looking dangerous all afternoon.

Still here, just getting to the truck and headed back to OC. Good game overall, took the Kings a while to get going.

Kings tied with Edmonton for second in PD. Don't know if they'll last another WCQF come April but take the 2 points. Kings PP absolutely horrendous in person let alone TV.

Buster with a phenomenal game, now let's hope he doesn't disappear for 6 weeks.
