Don't be a jabroni.
Game day again, 1pm start on FDS. I'll be at this game and have tickets in S215, I specifically bought them there to honor Ox because his season seats were in the same section. It'll be strange because I sat with him so many times over the years there so I'll definitely be thinking of him. Amazing man and influence in my life still to this day.
Been seeing a woman since August and this will be her first live NHL game and I told her she is in for a treat not only with the rivalry picking up again between the Kings and Oilers but also because she will see the best hockey player in the world live too. It's my first game since March 2023 (Vancouver) so it's been a minute but excited to go. If anyone is around just post here or if you have my nunber text me and first beer is on me.
Not much to say on this one, it sure feels like these two are headed for a PO matchup fir the fourth year in a row if things stand. I'm still skeptical of this team and could see them miss or barely make a WC spot so this isn't a given but sure looks that way. The Kings have one of the best home records in the league and the Oilers have won 11 of their last 13 and are third best on the road so something is going to give today.
Dunno should be back in the lineup so the usual line combinations should appear. It's the first of a B2B so the Kings didn't hold a skate today also being an early start, so we don't know who the goalie will be. I'd like to see Rittich but we know Jill loves his defacto starters.
The Kings ran the 11/7 all seven games of the road trip but against Washington the 12/6 wad expected until Dunno was a late scratch. Looks like it was just a maintenance day for him and nothing serious but we don't know what format Jill will deploy today.
The Oilers are the Oilers so expect a lot of ankle whacking from Draisaitl and both Arvidsson and Foegle will be facing their former teams. Foegle left Edmonton because he wanted a bigger role and he has fit in nicely in LA. Arvidsson, well he's been Arvidsson with time on IR and IMO no delivering value on that contract he signed there. But he was a solid King and looking forward to seeing him.
Two big points for either team as the prize but I'm calling a 3-1 Kings win. Kempe, Turcotte and Helenius with his first NHL goal. Arvidsson with the Oiler goal because that's what happens when ex Kings come home. The win is for Ox.
Let's Go Kings!
