Don't be a jabroni.
Game day, trying to get some trees cut down and into the dumpster before TG when the family comes over since I'm hosting. Ms Puck I is coming in from AZ with the boy, can't really say anything because we all know what happens when you disagree with your kids' decision but in one word: dolt. Not a fan but I'll tolerate and they sleep in separate rooms when visiting pops. I digress, back to the game.
Game time is 1pm on FDS, we all know the Saturday afternoon games have higher potential to be stinkers. Hope the Kings come out firing and prepared, slow starts seem to be a hallmark of this team for several seasons now. Last game of a 3 game homestand that covered 11 days so there has been plenty of rest between them all but only .500 so far. Hoping for a more intense, energized effort than what we saw against Buffalo on Wednesday.
No major lineup changes expected with Burroughs and Englund out on defense but Thomas may check in on the fourth line, my guess for Helenius or Lee (because we all know Lewis is going to play). Portillo was assigned to Ontario and expected to play there tonight, be recalled tomorrow and we should see his NHL debut next week. Copley backing up Rittich with Kuemper still on IR.
Jill sticking with the five forward PP, showing his stubbornness claiming "it's right there". Really? Because the only thing I've seen on the PP in 6 weeks that's "right there " is that it's a POS that doesn't work. The Kings hired former Anaheim AC Newell Brown to run the PP, send him back to Anaheim because it isn't working at all.
Two guys that need to get going among others are Moore and Fiala, the good news is Moore led the league with 4 goals scored against Seattle last season and Fiala had 1/2/3 against them last season. Maybe this is a game that gets them moving.
Daccord to get the start in Seattle, McCann their leading scorer with 9/11/21 and Montour leading from the back end with 5/18/13. Montour is Clarke but more experienced and polished so expect him to run the PP and take chances.
This is a big game, Kraken are 10-9-1 for 21 points and 6th in the PD while the Kings are 3rd and have 23 points. Edmonton and Vancouver (4th and 5th) play later so depending on what happens today the Kings could end up in 6th with...Anaheim right behind them at 7th with 19 points. Huge game for LA and they've had the easiest strength of schedule so far in the league. Seattle plays in Anaheim Monday night.
Prediction: Kings 4-3 with Buster, Fiala, Thomas and Foegle with goals. Going to be one of those games with leads exchanging and no team truly establishing control. Buster buys a new watch as self love after the game.
Let's Go Kings!
