Don't be a jabroni.
Game day, 7pm start on ESPN+, Hulu and Disney+. I know subscribers who are getting YouTube TV and Disney+ through them are blacked out because of a contract stalemate between Verizon and Disney. Hopefully no one has major issues tonight trying to watch the game. I have both through Verizon, if I have an issue SportsX it is.
Nothing new to report, Jill will run the same lineup he did in the big win against the Jets. Another test coming up tonight against the B2B defending Cup champs. They got thumped 7-3 by Anaheim on Tuesday night and are in game two of a four-year game west coast swing. Dexter still out, Moverare and Helenius expected to be the scratches. Forsberg expected to start with Kuemper having gone the last few games in a row and coming off the shut out. If not announced, Burroughs cleared Waivers and was assigned to Ontario earlier this week.
The Panthers are a pedestrian 6-6-1 but they are missing Barkov and Tkachuk with long term injuries. Marchand has stepped up and leads them with 13 points including 6 goals. Smaller version of Perry so expect him to tee off some Kings. Lundell, who is known as Barkov Lite, has taken over 1C. He's a hidden gem in the league and could easily be a 2C full time or a 1C/2C as needed.
Not much else to report, need another full 60 minute effort like we saw against Winnipeg. The Panthers may be short handed but they are winners and they play a very direct game. Nothing fancy, they just come at you in waves over and over again. Kings will need to stay out of their DZ as much as possible.
Prediction: Panthers 4-2 unfortunately. They got beat up by Anaheim on Tuesday and I think they will come out flying tonight. Kings goals by Kopitar getting his first of the season and Perry continuing to make his presence felt.
Let's Go Kings!
