The Cowboys used what the had and it worked. Their offense is predicated on the running game. The Zeke/Dak rushing combo was deadly today. 138 yards on the ground is just what the dr ordered.

Now they need to get the passing game rolling.

Clock control. That's how we did good a few years ago. Keeps the defense fresh. We saw at the end of the game what our defense can do if we aren't blitzing like mad. My concern is against an OL that is competent they will be able to pick up those blitzes and we will get picked apart.

Luckily we get SEA next week, so we still don't see a competent OL. :dhd:

Chris Collingsworth made some good points last night. (wow....how fucking wierd does that sound?)

He made the comment that the Cowboys were not physically beating the Giants and that they were getting beat by the scheme. He was correct on that. I can't recall the last time I saw a single o-line miss that many blocks. On top of that, how inept was the coaching staff to never adjust to it?

I figured at half the Giants would change and their offense would start to click. Never happened, I'm amazed. Then in the 4th we stopped blitzing and the Giants came back. :L

Sean Lee was on the sidelines at that time.

It appears the Giants have failed in another coaching hire. The coaching staff was just horrible and did not deviate from their game plan when they should have. The Giants should have went jumbo on the offensive line and repeatedly fed Barkley the ball. I have to say he is the real deal. I don't recall a single talk last night where the first guy that hit him took him down. They needed to wear down the Cowboys defensive line and force guys to remain in the box. Then play action would have been working.

Seattle's still better than NYG....that game could go either way IMO.

Tom Coughlin is doing pretty well though in JAX. :pound:

SEA doesn't ahve Barkley so that's a big win for Dallas. They also don't have an Eli, so that's a big win for SEA.

You are correct. I think what is lost in that win is how bad the Cowboys passing game is. It was an impressive win because the ground game was clicking but I was watching first things first and they mentioned that after that 1st drive Dak was 15-24 for 96 yards. That may beat teams as bad as the Giants but they will definitely need to pick that up if they plan on being playoff contenders.

I don't know if Seattle's O line is better then New York's or not but Wilson is a whole lot more dangerous than Eli at making things work when the line fails.

Giants gave up less than 300 yards total offense. They played pretty good considering. Their offense was really, really bad.

They gave up some big plays....that long TD to start the game especially. 64 yarder by Austin.

What's funny is I saw the Giants defense do what Dallas defense did in week 1. It's like our OC took the Panthers playbook and made it our own. Week 1 our DE was crashing after the QB and Cam ran all over us. Last night, same deal but Dallas was doing the running.

I thought the Dallas defense was very strong. Smith played lights out in my opinion. Even if Lee wasn't playing. He is proving to be worth the flyer Dallas took in drafting him.

And with Gregory and Irving still to come things are looking up.

I think the defense could win a couple of games.
