Top three one my wish list:
1. Lance Lynn
2. Yu Darvish
3. Jake Arrietta

Top three one my expectation list:
1. Garrett Richards (because he is a Padre and sooner or later we always get the available Padres)
2. Andrew Cashner (because he used to be a Padre)
3. (Tie) Jason Vargas/Doug Fister because we like to groom/acquire prospects, let em cut their teeth in the majors a couple years, trade them away as they hit the prime of their career, and then bring them back for an encore as their best years are behind them. Expect to see Sin Soo Choo in our outfield in 2019 followed by Adam Jones in 2022. By then our manager will be Willie Bloomquist.

I wouldn't mind Vargas honestly. If he pitches the way he has so far he could have trade value at the deadline when they do their fire sale next year and the Mariners desperately need prospects

I think you mean Clayton Richard. Garrett is with the Angels and is hurt all the time...so ya I guess he does make sense for the M's...lol.

Don't be fooled by his overall stats this year. He was injured for most of the previous two years and then miraculously recovered for his walk year this year. And his second half splits are awful (6.69 ERA, 1.74 WHIP). He's fading hard and clearly can't hack the grind of a 162 game schedule.

Yeah, you're right. Pretty big difference between those two. I'd take Garrett Richard in a heartbeat despite the injuries.

At this point I would take Clayton Richard over 90% of what we currently have.

True, but that is what everyone said about Washburn too. With this second WC, a number 3 type starter is worth a boatload. Shit, Jerry traded a top prospect for a number 8 starter

What do I expect? Some starter who is currently hurt or underperforming so we can buy low on them. And another trade for someone else's AAA fodder, kinda like trading Chris Taylor for a guy who never was here. But it's ok because we will control them for 4 years. Those are the type of moves I expect.

Shaft (Richard Roundtree) probably can't pitch but he has one helluva signature
