How didn't they do something about this during the last CBA?

Allowing a player to get franchise tagged more than once is ridiculous

The next CBA negotiations will most likely get very ugly. Well see how much will power the players have.

I'm ok with placing the tag on a player once but multiple times? How do you even agree to this in the first place?

I just don't get it

I don’t mind franchise tagging a player multiple times because each time they do it the pay goes up absurdly.

What I don’t think is right is franchise tagging him multiple times and then being allowed to transition tag him. That’s bullshit

Players want security in a long term contract. Not this one year crap even though the money is nice

Because its good for all the players not being tagged and is good for the union overall.

just like anything its your job. Its not the normal world where u can seek out new jobs. THe owners, and league who pay their check have that system in place. I dont think any player DESERVES free agency.........they have a jon, behappy

You get paid but you're one major injury from never getting paid well again.

Tear an Achilles in year 1 or 2 of a franchise tag and you just missed out on a huge pay day in the future that you will probably never get to see again

The only thing good for the player is it's 100% guarenteed. It would be interesting to see a player sign and then get incarcerated. Would he still get paid? I guess that would depend on each contract verbiage. More curious if that kind of verbiage is the norm?

The current rookie wage scale was demanded by the players union bc unproven draft picks were being paid ridiculous amounts of money thereby eating up huge chunks of the salary cap which left little money for proven veteran players.

Imagine playing a long time and being told that you can’t get a big contract bc some unproven draft choice is demanding a huge contract or else they are gonna hold out

Just wondering (out of the blue) if kids today even play tag anymore. Can it be done by phone.

Gang tag was lots of fun, especially if you were the last man standing.

The union has around 1800 players per season to worry about. Le'Veon Bells situation is unfortunate, but isn't likely to high on the docket they need to be focused on a long term health plan, a retirement fund, and increasing the overall percentage of the pie their players get. The Tag effects increases the amount of money players receive at that position going forward and "the good of the many outweighs the good of the few".

Do you really feel this way? I’m not all into that, “Fuck everybody and fuck the employees. The billionaire deserves everything and we should bow down to their feet and let them piss on us”. Why can’t they have the freedom to play for who they want and where they want and be able to make the most money they can?
Should your work be like that?
