The San Francisco 49ers announced that they have signed LB Bruce Davis to the team’s practice squad.
Davis (6-3, 252) has played in 15 career games. He originally entered the league as a third round draft pick (88th overall) of the Pittsburgh Steelers in the 2008 NFL Draft. He has spent time on the active roster with both the Steelers (2008) and the Oakland Raiders (2010-11). Davis also spent time on the 49ers practice squad in 2010, and the Cincinnati Bengals practice squad in 2011.
Davis, a 26-year old native of Los Angeles, CA, starred collegiately at UCLA where he ranks second in school history with 29.0 career sacks. He was a two-time All-American and All-Pac 10 selection.
