23 yr old 6'4 - 195 goalie at Ohio St.

2.30 GAA and a .923 sv% last season starting all 37 games, voted team MVP as a junior last year

so far this year, 2.45 and a .918 in 32 games

looks like another fire-from-the-hip goalie signing in hopes that one of them pans out

I just wonder why our guys get so much more than players on other teams. seems like most of our draft picks get max dollars. see Marshall and Boudron. Also Couts got more than the Devils pick who went a few higher. Why oh why?

I remember reading that Cooter was one of the first players drafted in the 1st round that didn't ask for any bonus' in his first contract. I think GM's are trying to get away from the whole bonus thing because it screws your cap management up. I think Cooter is tha kind of player that gets having a good team is more important then squeezing every $ you can out of a them.

If I'm not mistaken we free up quite a few contracts next season, which is when thisbone starts.

Lappy, walker, and I think Shelley all come off the books. That's 3 completely useless contracts right there

Remember FA contracts will always be higher because you're bidding against the rest of the league on those. Overall we've had decent value with DB I'm not upset in the slightest and odds are he'll find his game come playoffs once again. He's already starting to show some offensive spark....

Agreed I thought that he was up next year too...but on a good note Homer did find his replacement in Sestito who has looked pretty good. Not sure what his cap is but it can't be much.
