Leave Huberdeau in junior. Among other reasons (not physically ready yet) his ELC salary won't help this cause of getting to the cap basement.

Call me crazy, but I think somebody wants his team to repeat as Memorial Cup champions...

actually, this year only, it could help them get to the floor.

a lot of high value, impossible to reach bonuses would be counted as cap hits.
as an absurd example: $10 million for 50 goals = boom, you're there.

Ahhh that makes sense. Or a rookie of the year bonus. Never thought of that.

I still think its unlikely though but you never know. Not many expected Skinner to make the NHL last year either, at whatever age it was that he happened to be.

The current CBA is set to expire on September 15, 2012. The 2011–12 NHL season will be the final year of the current collective bargaining agreement as the NHL Players' Association will no longer have the option to extend the current CBA. Should neither side reach an agreement prior to the start of the 2012–13 NHL season the rules of the current CBA will be grandfathered in until a new agreement is ratified.[citation needed]

It's very likely that Huberdeau doesn't make the team this year; he needs to get bigger.

I'm cool with this deal.
