I agree winston shouldn't be playing then just like we are keeping our players out. I don't understand this crap and how some teams operate.

If anything comes of this, I wonder if FSU forfeits wins and NC???

I had heard that the TPD initially believed the girl when she reported, but the State Attorney's office said there wasn't 'enough evidence to prosecute' ... then just drug their feet (along with FSU) in the whole matter.

Then, basically, swept the crab shoplifting under the rug when they found out who the 'perp' was!

Funny how that worked, eh?

What I find kind of funny (sad actually) is that it seems a lot of times a guy fucks up in college and everything is done to cover it up, for the University and whatever it gains from having that player play (like Johnny Clipboard only getting suspended for a 1/2; do you really believe he didn't sign those collectibles or make any $ off them?) in that game or games. But, you step up to the NFL and they will sell your ass out only with mere allegations, even voiding that contract before a court verdict comes in. Sure, many times the outcome can be reasonably expected and I get that in the case of someone like Hernandez where his roster spot is in question indefinitely, but just in general I find it oddly comical.

I suspect nothing is going to come of this. Not because I think the guy is completely innocent but it sure appears like someone's palm(s) are being greased to have this same issue go on for over a year. How many regular folks could have a r*pe charge hanging around for that long without already having some 'time-served' or a big chunk of money tied up with a bail bondsman?

I don't see how this could result in vacating wins. The State of Florida screwed this up. It seems like the school wasn't responsible for the investigation. Even if they decide he is guilty, he wasn't guilty at the time the games were played. Had he taken money and been ruled ineligible, then yes, vacate the wins. But playing a player who "should" have been convicted is not the school's responsibility.

Yeah, it's called hiring a high-profile FL lawyer to keep your butt out of the sling, and ohhhh ... being a leading Heisman candidate, and ohhhh .... having your team highly ranked poised for a national championship. It was 'hands off' while all of that was going on, obviously.

I get what you're saying, but this incident supposedly happened while he was a 'freshman' and on the roster. Then he started playing ... and playing at a highly successful level, winning the Heisman and a NC for FSU. It's a shame that the state/county chose to 'turn their heads' while all of this was going on and, maybe, 'do the right thing at the time'. If they had, maybe he should've been 'ineligible' to be on the team, let alone be allowed to suit up and play.

I guess the forfeitures of wins & NC just sounds good and maybe the proper thing to do if the school miraculously finds any 'improprieties' during their so-called investigation.

That's actually a fair point. Even if it weren't specified within the rules, if he is found to have violated the student code of conduct policy, it would start a huge shit-storm because then people would/will be saying, Why wasn't he ruled in-eligible when this broke for one and for two, why has it taken the university this long to determine if the COC was violated?

And yes Craig, I know someone's palm is getting greased, which is really the most sickening thing of it all, that her rights are ignored, that justice will likely only come in the form of karma, and all in the name of fucking entertainment! But I guess I'm being a little too dramatic about this, injustice occurs in a lot worse forms I reckon.
